Card #13 of a COVID-19 Card-a-Day Series

Verse for the Day

Psalm 103:13 & 14 ESV “As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.

Song for the Day

God Will Take Care of You

Be not dismayed whate’er betide,
God will take care of you;
Beneath his wings of love abide,
God will take care of you.

Refrain:
God will take care of you,
Through ev'ry day,
O’er all the way;
He will take care of you,
God will take care of you.

Through days of toil when heart does fail,
God will take care of you;
When dangers fierce your path assail,
God will take care of you. [Refrain]

All you may need he will provide,
God will take care of you;
Nothing you ask will be denied,
God will take care of you. [Refrain]

No matter what may be the test,
God will take care of you;
Lean, weary one, upon his breast,
God will take care of you. [Refrain]

~ Civilla Martin

Song Suggestion: Go to a quiet corner or a place that gives you a picture of being under God’s wings of love and go over this song in your mind, allowing it to sink in that God has you in His care. Later, sing the song aloud as you go about your work or play.

COVID-19 Prayer Focus

The Lonely

Days of isolation tend to underscore the loneliness in our lives. Let’s remember in prayer those who may be feeling their loneliness very keenly at this time. I’ll list some whom I thought of; you’ll be able to think of others, I’m sure.

            Those who live alone
            Missionaries abroad who have decided to stay in the country where they are stationed
            Those who are physically handicapped
            Single parents
            Patients in hospitals/residents in nursing homes

God is to be adored for:
 Being our Father

Pic from Then

In this photo my girls are traveling, I believe. They have packed themselves, their babies, their bags of gear, and their smiles into their van and are headed to some exciting destination, probably camping or cottaging.
For those of you that knew my Mom-Eva, can you see her at all in Kayleen’s expression? (the gal on the right)

Pic from Now

I’m always amazed at the beauty that can be found in an old, dried-up weed. Here the seed pod of a milkweed plant has blossomed into an elegant flower. I discovered this when I went on a walk to the pond and the woods yesterday.

 Activity Idea

Think about a food that you loved eating when you were a child. No, don’t even consider that you could actually make that particular dish…

What is it?

Today’s mystery photo:

Answer to yesterday’s photo: Egg carton in the fridge.
