Verse for the Day
II
Corinthians 9:8 KJV “And God is able to make ALL grace abound toward you; that
ye, always having ALL sufficiency in ALL things, may abound to EVERY good
work.” (capitalization is mine)
Song for the Day
In
Christ Alone
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone! Who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

Song Suggestion: Sing the song quite slowly, pausing
after each line to allow the meaning of the words to sink in. If you wish, raise
the pitch a half step at the beginning of the last verse or two.
COVID-19 Prayer Focus
Teachers
Today, I
suggest praying for those involved in education. They’ve had to make some big
decisions, some huge adjustments and some great sacrifices of time and energy
in recent weeks. Ask God to give them:
Wisdom
Patience
Peace
Refreshing sleep
Stamina
Cooperation of students and school parents
I’m sure you can think
of more requests. As you remember teachers you know personally, pray for them by
name.
God is to be adored for: His knowledge
Pic from Then
By the
looks of it, Ricky began his career in design many years ago. I believe this
picture was taken after we got back from a family trip to Florida. While we
were there, we saw a water show that featured Corky the Clown. Ricky tried to
imitate him in different ways, this time with construction paper and tape
make-up. Maybe Kayleen was to be “Corkette”?
Pic
from Now
Now that we are socially distanced from our family, I’m
more thankful than ever for the visit from Carlin & Kayleen and Kerra two
weekends ago. (and for the privilege of having all of the Kenites here on that
Sunday) We had known about Carlins coming for awhile beforehand, and were anticipating
it greatly. Kerra, who practically lives next door to Carlins when she’s
studying at Faith Builders in Guys Mills, Pennsylvania, had indicated that she
was too busy with homework to be able to hop in and ride along with Carlin
& Kayleen here that weekend. Then she surprised us by coming along with them anyway! We were good with that. But that explains why Kerra didn’t get her name on the
welcome board at her arrival.
*Now Kerra is back home - for a few weeks, at least. Faith
Builders sent their students home because of the COVID pandemic. The students
will be continuing their studies online.

Today’s mystery photo:
Answer to yesterday’s photo: A smiley face!
Aha...i'm a step ahead. I cleaned out my junk drawer on Friday. After all, one cannot homeschool with a disorderly junk drawer! Thank you for this inspirational corner. It is a very nice gift.
ReplyDeleteGood for you on that orderly drawer! (I should go practice what I preach...) You are welcome for the inspirational corner. I like this way of staying in touch with good friends like you.
DeleteOh, I'm finding these posts so encouraging, Danette! I love the "pics from then," and it's just refreshing to step outside of my own little world (smaller than usual right now). Thanks for the song today! It's one of my favourites! My guess for the mystery photo today is . . . a whisk!
ReplyDeleteGood guess there, Chelsea! :) Thanks for replying. It makes me so happy to know that I can brighten someone's corner of the world from right here in my own (isolated) corner.
