Card #4 of a COVID-19 Card-a-Day Series

Verse for the Day

Psalm 43:5 NIV “Why, my soul, are you so downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”

Song for the Day

My Faith Has Found a Resting Place

My faith has found a resting place,
Not in device nor creed;
I trust the Ever-living One,
His wounds for me shall plead.

Chorus:
I need no other argument,
I need no other plea;
It is enough that Jesus died,
And that He died for me.

Enough for me that Jesus saves,
This ends my fear and doubt;
A sinful soul, I come to Him,
He’ll never cast me out.

My heart is leaning on the Word,
The written Word of God,
Salvation by my Savior’s name,
Salvation through His blood.

My great Physician heals the sick,
The lost He came to save;
For me His precious blood He shed,
For me His life He gave.

~ Elizabeth Edmunds Hewitt

Song Suggestion: When you get to any phrase of the song that you wish to declare or emphasize, sing loudly.
COVID-19 Prayer Focus

Health Care Workers

Today, let’s pray for those who are in health care, working in the front lines of the battle against COVID-19. Ask God to give them:
            Prudence in dealing with each individual case they encounter
            The compassion of Jesus as they test and treat patients, and minister to the lonely
            Trust in their Protector - for those in vulnerable positions working so closely to the virus
            Refreshing sleep when they are exhausted
            Cheerful and grateful attitudes that can spill over and encourage the people in their care
Again, as you remember health care workers that you know personally, pray for them by name.

God is to be adored for:
 His strength

I share this picture for several reasons 1. To show you what our family looked like “back in the day” 2. To encourage you to make the effort to take pictures (both formal and casual) of your family and their doings when your children are young - and at any stage, really 3. To let you know that, if it’s a challenge for you to get everybody in the family looking “chite” for the pose – no squinting, no looking off into the blue yonder, no wailing, no fake smiles – all at the same time, you have my complete understanding and empathy! My advice to you: Take the photo anyway.

You know how farmers or gardeners sometimes say their crops are growing so fast you can almost hear or see them grow? Well, I’m feeling that way about my amaryllis plant these days. Yesterday I took a few shots of the flower that is opening up into SIX buds. These two photos were taken approximately 7 hours apart. Can you spot the difference?

Activity Idea

Walk into five different rooms of your house and identify a different smell in each.

What is it?
Today’s mystery photo:

Answer to yesterday’s photo: A kitchen whisk

    1. Miriam, you're in the right room, but not at the right answer yet. (it's not the cover for the toilet seat or the lid. winkyface)
